Scott performs solo, duo, trio, or with full band.  He is known for his spellbinding, intimate performances.  He is adept at performative and instructional songwriting workshops.

His songs have been recorded by Hayes Carll, Mary Gauthier, Watermelon Slim, and Corin Raymond among others. He has toured with Hayes, Mary, James McMurtry, and Fred Eaglesmith.  He has produced albums for William Prince, Lynne Hanson, Watermelon Slim, Stephen Fearing, and others.

Joe Nolan from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta (north of Edm).  Influenced by roots-music gentry like Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith, Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams and Bob Dylan, Nolan reflects on his vagabond lifestyle that takes him to festivals and venues spread throughout Canada's peaks and valleys.  A typical year will see him playing anywhere from 150-200 shows; he is a true workhorse and road dog.

CONGRATS to Joe for his Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for Contemporary Singer of the Year!

Lynne Hanson  -  Sunday, June 16, 2024 @ 2PM

Suggested Donation:  $25 per person, RSVP:  rickksroom@gmail.com

Too tough for folk and too blues-influenced for country, Lynne Hanson’s brand of porch music with a little red dirt can turn on a dime from a sunshine, blue sky ballad to a full on thunderstorm of gritty Americana swamp from one song to the next. Her hard living music has garnered her the nickname “Canada’s Queen of Americana.” And while her deep, bluesy croon has drawn comparisons to Lucinda Williams and Gillian Welch, it’s the poetry of her lyrics that really sets her apart.

Winner of two Canadian Folk Music Awards, Hanson is known for her high energy, roots guitar driven live performances, whether playing solo or with her band the Good Intentions. She has an uncanny way of connecting with her audience with an authenticity that is as entertaining as it is disarming.

Lynne returns to the RickksRoom stage to showcase  her new album being released in late May 2024, we are honoured to be on her new album release tour !

Leverage for Mountains  - Sunday, August 25, 2024 -  @  2PM

Suggested Donation - $25 per person, RSVP to rickksroom@gmail.com

Leverage For Mountains is Nick Loyer, Jay Trépanier and Jay Flynn. Based in Gatineau, this independent  indie/folk trio is quickly gaining popularity with their rich acoustic sound and powerful vocal harmonies.  The band released their first E.P. in 2016, titled "The Essence Project", introducing their audience to their simplistic approach to giving springboard to the lyrics offered and the emotions induced in their songs. All of this is served with captivating melodies and meticulous vocal harmonies. The trio was awarded "Public’s Choice" at the Cabaret le Festif! (Charlevoix, QC) in 2017.  The trio launched their second record, Love Out of the Dark, at a sold-out show at Salle Jean Desprez in only a few hours.
